1KZTE or 1KDFTV

1KZTE or 1KDFTV

Hi guys,

I need some help. I have a land cruiser II with originally came up with 1KZT. The car is only driven 65000k and it started eating mobil oil, when inspected the engine, the mechanic told me to keep the engine and buy a new one as I my self am not in favor or rebuilting.

Anyhow, I have an option of fitting a 1KD FTV 3000 intercooled (from a 2005 Prado D4D) and a 1KZTE (EFI) . So which one to choose? As I have heard the D4D engines are not sucessful in Pakistan because of diesel quailty.

I have already fitted the 1KD FTV but the ECU, Turbo driver etc isnt connected as yet, still want your opinions.

Thank you,

our diesel has sulphur content and our fuels still have lead to some extent.one thing is for sure the 1kd wont be long lasting compared to 1kz although ur engine blew up to soon.
use the right oil and dont change late and keep an eye on temp gauge
peace
