2013 Suzuki Swift DX engine might need an overhaul

Hey everyone,

I have a 2013 Suzuki Swift DX that’s been driven about 101,400 km. Ive noticed its using oil pretty quickly—about 2,000 km after an oil change, the level s to the middle of the dipstick. I recently switched to 10W-40 ZIC oil.

Im also having some power issues when driving in hilly areas it feels like the car is under too much load when I try to accelerate. I took it to a mechanic, and he suggested that the engine might need an overhaul.

I’m wondering if an overhaul is really the best option since some mechanics have mentioned that it’s a chain engine and can be tricky to work on. If anyone has experience with overhauling their engine, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!

You should get a compression test. If your engine oil is low, it might be because of leaking valve stem seals, a faulty PCV, o r a leak in the valve cover seal.
