3 Wire IACV Voltage Reading - Honda Civic 1996 - KOEOff/KOEOn
3 Wire IACV Voltage Reading - Honda Civic 1996 - KOEOff/KOEOn
Could someone please provide guidance on the appropriate voltage reading for a 3-wire IACV? Specifically, what voltage readings should be obtained with the engine on and KOEOff? I am experiencing hunting idle in my car, which has been confirmed to be due to the IACV. I conducted voltage tests and obtained the following results:
With KOEOff, I obtained battery voltage on the middle wire, and continuity with the battery negative terminal on the other two wires when the connector was not connected to the solenoid.
With the connector connected to the solenoid and the engine running at idle, I obtained battery voltage on the middle wire and 7.5 volts on both of the other two wires.
While the engine was running, I unscrewed the solenoid and removed it from the IACV without disconnecting the connector from the solenoid. This caused the idle to become completely normal.
I would like to confirm whether the voltage readings of 12 volts on the middle wire and 7.5 volts on the other wires, while the engine is running, are acceptable. I suspect there may be an issue with my wiring harness o r ECU, as removing the solenoid caused the idle to become smooth and regular. It is possible that there is a short circuit o r a faulty ECU that is sending abnormal signals/voltages to the IACV.
I would greatly appreciate expert assistance, as I am experiencing very poor gas mileage with my Civic.

If you are facing Hunting IDLE issue it is better to seek a professional for a help because in these cases we are curious and try to fix it ourselves but these issues are always complicated and we mess up things so I would suggest you to go and ask professional for help if you are from rawalpindi o r islamabad go to Saddar Rawalpindi there are many workshops and mechanics that maybe able to help you and same goes for khana pul islamabad best of luck and no offence
