4AGE Experts: Need help with Electrical problem

calling all "black top" experts. I recently had a BT installed in my car but I'm facing an issue with the fuel pump. its died on me twice while running on the road. i checked the wiring myself and discovered the electrician has hooked the pump directly to the battery and ignition switch. that could be the problem as the pump runs continuously. Does the pump need to be connected thru the ECU? or do i need to dos something else to it. would appreciate all the help.

ecu sends signal to pump to send fuel into fuel rail when you select ignition switch to on position in 20v.
using direct battery power to pump will constantly flow fuel in rails and will damage the fuel pump quick.

toyota does not recomened it

you will hear ticking sound coming from engine when car ignition key is on position when fuel is running into fuel rail and engine is still off.

.

another reason fuel pump dies is using a smaller pump .

though 4age16v will work with a 20v engine but i dont recomend it.
use a 6 cylinder toyota engine fuel pump.

dont use 4afe or other similar category pumps from suzuki Gti etc.
