ahhh ... there is so much to say about rims ... If you want durability and comfort ... stay with your factory steel rims. When you put on aftermarket wheels, you have to consider the size, the bolt patern of the wheel, the offset for your car and the weight of the wheel.

If you add a bigger sized wheel, lets say 15" instead of the 13" factory wheel, you will have to get a tire with smaller sidewall so as to keep the external radious of the wheel n tire the same as factory. If you change that, it'll affect the handelling of your car, fuel consumption, and your speedometer won't be acurate.

If you increase the wheel side and put on a low profile tire, your handelling will become better but the comfort and road noise will increase. This is because there will be less air to cushon the bumps on the road. Also, because of this you can bend the wheels as well ... unless ofcourse they are of very good quality.

You need to keep in mind the off-set and stay as close to the factory offset as possible becase if you alter that, it affects the geometry of your suspension and can put extra stress on your suspension and it can wear off pretty quickly. Also the car won't handle that well either, unless you have taken steps to modify your suspension so as to meet the new offset.

Weight of the wheel is also important. Lighter the wheel, better will be the handeling, braking, acceleration, ride quality etc. Heavy wheel will have most, if not all, the adverse affects I mentioned above.

So which wheels to buy? Do some research ... find the offset for your car and then compare the wheels available in the market. Go with the best compromise.

also ummm ... maybe this is more information than you need to know ... many people put on aftermarket wheels without thinking about any of these factors, and they get away with it ... you might too if u'r lucky ... but if you really want to make the best choice ... you have to keep these in mind

If you have any further questions, feel free to let me know.

Peace!
