Brakes on corrolla

Brakes on corrolla

salaam everyone. i have a question regarding corrolla braking system. se saloon 4 disc brakes.

when my dad's car is braked even at say 40 km/h the wheels lock and the car continues forward skidding.

Questions 1: do ALL wheel brakes work at the same time since it has 4 wheel discs?

Question 2: is this normal for corrolla to behave this way?

everythign has been checked and works out fine. only suggestion left is to change tyres (currently 14 inches yokohama tyres) with bridgestone 15 inchers. but i am told they are expensive and will cost fuel efficiency.

car has done about 54,000 km.

please advise? is this problem only in our car or others also?

1. YES, all brakes work at the same time, if one brake pad is less worn then less fluid'd flow towards it as compared to other worn out pads. BUT it does not mean all pads give same performance, vehicle may sway or pull towards one direction due to 2 reasons.
i) Alignment
ii) wear pattern of brake pads, might not be smooth at edges.

2. YES, it is normal plz refer to threads pertaining to rolla brakes.

stick to 14" wheels and keep rolling dia specified by company while choosing tyres.
