Brakes topic
Brakes have been discussed from driver's point of view a lot on Pakwheels normally ends up cursing ae-120. The reality lies little beyond.
Lets talk techinical view. there is some maths involved which may be quite complicated for a normal user so we'll let the physics masters on PW tackle that part for us translating into simple english.
I once asked a Toyota technicain to explain me what is the problem with Indus manufactured ae-120 and he said brakes are fine in the car they are suppose to stop wheel from rotation and thats what they exactly do.
I looked at him trying to absorb what he said meanwhile wondering why do ppl complain then car skids all over the road then instead of stopping.
so after some years i came up with my braking theory and it goes like this.
Your car's wheels should be in motion till your car is in motion".
Dunno how many of you would agree to this but it makes sense to me everytime i apply it.
For basics of braking one can open "how stuff works" site and learn about brakes and friction.
We know road friction is a variable especially in Pk, i drove in Peshawer, Lhr,, going downhill after entering Islamabad highway our motorways and few other interesting roads and friction fact remains, so will the basic braking works same in all conditions,, here i havent touched car weight factor as yet. - no it wont work.
will my above mentioned theory work?. yes it may, you need to practise what kind of braking system your car has and how to use it effectively.

There are many factors to braking and the number pistons on caliper are just one minor part of it. Too many pistons are not neccassarilly good. It also depends on the amount area they cover and that is your effective braking surface.
So with this subject you can try but you will barely scratch the surface.
if you like better engine braking by downshifting get a heavier flywheel, your braking will improve 100%
