Breaking-in New Engine

Breaking-in New Engine

I will be having my new GLi in a few days time. Just wondering if someone could share the procedures or his experiences of breaking in the new engine (aka running ). Regards,

correct term is "running-in", nowdays most engines are run-in but it's always safer to drive the car at low revs & moderate speeds for at least the first tankful to ensure you didn't get a car with problems. this time will also help the brakes bed-in correctly and for all the gears, bearings etc to get to work correctly.

last thing you need is to drive a showrrom fresh car at top-speed only to find out that the muppets at the factory forgot to grease a wheel bearing.
