Its a very stupid idea. People over the years have gotten carried away with intakes. The idea of an aftermarket "intake" is to serve two purposes. First, eliminate restriction and allow for MORE air to go through to the carb or intake. Second, which is the more important one is that they were meant to be COLD air intakes meaning bringing cool outside air into the carb/intake and not hot as F air picked up right from inside the engine compartment and shove in into your engine. Hot air is bad for engine intake as it promotes detonation and you lose HP vs cold air.

Even leaving ALLL that aside for your particular issue... its an even dumber idea as if you looked closer to your CNG kit, I'm sure there is some sort of an air "restrictor" in place right before the intake mani reducing down the diameter of the intake pipe to accommodate the function of the CNG operation on your engine. If you were to remove it, your CNG to air mixture is going to be drastically thrown off and your car is going to have a hard as hell time even staying running under normal conditions. And if you were to leave that in place, then the "intake" serves no purpose unless you're actually going to spend the time, money and effort on installing a true COLD air intake.
