Can Using the Wrong Windshield Cleaner Cause Streaks on My Suzuki Cultus?

I’ve been using a regular household glass cleaner to clean the windshield of my Suzuki Cultus, and I’m noticing streaks that won’t go away. Could the cleaner be the problem? Should I be using a specific type of windshield cleaner, and what’s the best way to clean my windshield without leaving streaks?
