Changing Gearbox of Toyota Platz

I own a 2000 model Toyota Platz Automatic. On daily basis, the car was working fine. But I am facing an issue with my car since today. I feel that the transmission of the engine is broken somewhere. When I leave the brake pedal, it can’t creep while reversing o r in drive. The car can only move on jerky way when I press the gas pedal. But the engine revives dominantly higher than it should move normally at a common speed. I have also checked the transmission fluid as well. It seems like burnt and has a kind of smell. I think I should replace the transmission. I am not sure that is it possible to change an automatic with manual transmission o r not? Actually, I believe the manual transmission will be more reliable as compared to automatic transmission. Is it possible? Kindly guide me. If I buy a original kabuli transmission fro my car the what will be its price? Can anyone give me a rough estimate for manual o r automatic transmission for my 1000cc Toyota Platz. Which is the best place in Karachi to buy a gearbox as I live in Karachi? Also suggest me an experience mechanic for this. Thanks all.

I would suggest you to go to some mechanic it might not be what you think the problem is. Better get it checked from an expert who knows what he is doing.
