The Chevrolet Aveo has been quite a looker, and it still is. In fact, it wouldn't be wrong to say that Aveo is the most handsome-looking of the lot in its segment. The bold front end has a little Audi written on it and it works perfectly to complement the well-formed rear with triangular tail lights. All this works in perfect harmony with the prominent wheel arches to lend the Aveo a contemporary appearance. We do wish for better rubber, though.The interior is by far the best seen on a car this side of 10lakh. The beige, soft fabrics and a two-tone dash with slight sprinkle of brushed metal on it looks classy. If only the horn pads were large enough! The Aveo is spacious enough to seat four in good comfort. Seats are adequate and provide modest levels of support while the space is ample. The build quality is top notch and you get safety features like ABS and airbags (only on the top-end variant) that are a necessity these days. The steering is heavy and feels a bit vague and the gearbox is no good either. But otherwise, the Aveo is very stable and sturdy car with extremely good ride quality and well balanced handling.There a choice of two engines powering the Chevrolet Aveo. The 1.4-litre motor churns out 94bhp which is sufficient for almost anything. The added advantage is that it is frugal. The 1.6-litre, 102bhp engine is for the power freak and puts the Aveo in the region of Fiesta 1.6 and the SX4. Not bad!Overall, the Chevy Aveo is a great car to have if you are looking for good looks, not-so-hot performance, space, comfort and solid mechanicals. And then is the way the interior has been designed which speaks of wealth and has a feel-good factor going for it.
