Civic Prosmatec gear shifts

Hi guys! I have experienced in my prosmatec that the upsshifts are perfect but after the 4th gear if you slow down and then accelerate it doesn't automatically shift to 3rd gear unless the speed is really slow or you push the pedal further down. Sometimes the engine also seems to be struggling at 4th gear. I have asked a mechanic at honda workshop and he is saying it is nomal. Have you guys experienced this or is there something wrong?

i see no problem with prosmatec as such. u seem to be new with auto transmission. Decelerate gently and car shifts to a higher gear,push the throtle and it will go in a lower gear.
