I think your fear is logical as you are carrying a gas cylender in your car with 200 bar pressure. In order to overcome such a fear you need to understand the technology used in making CNG cylenders.
These cylenders are made of steel and process used is cold rolling. In simple language these are seamless cylenders, that is no welding or any other joint. Normally low pressure gas cylenders are made of several parts welded together but not the high pressure cylenders. Secondly these are tested and test is known as hydrostatic test. A cylender which is required to work for 200 bar is tested at 1000 bars i.e. 5 times higher pressure. Pakistan hydrocarbon institute do this test and every CNG cylender must be tested every 5 yrs. This is also true for cylenders installed in CNG stations.
Now come to pipings and plumbings. These are made of steel and use a special design which is meant for high pressure usage.
However few caution must be observed
1. Pipings should not rub with other parts.
2. Should not have sharp bends, more than 90 degrees.
3. Should not touch wheels in wheel wells.
4. Cylender should be properly secured.
5. Should be checked after every 5 yrs.
6. Should be cleaned for oil and other residues every yr. CNG mechanics know how to do it.
Keep your faith in Allah and always ask for His mercy and forgivness. InshAllah you will feel safe and secure.
