CNG or Diesel..... which way to go??

CNG or Diesel..... which way to go??

I have an old nissan sunny currently having a very weak CD17 Diesel engine...overhauling it costs 25K.....replacing it with petrol engine and CNG costs 50K

I am confused...what should I do....after hearing the news that CNG prices might go upto Rs. 50~60 per Kg.....

Give Suggestions Guys....

I would personally prefer Diesel as its safer and more powerful, but however is substantially less economical. Even if CNG goes to 60rs/kg, you're still at an advantage cause cars consume a lot less gas as compared to a liquid fuel. Even at 60, you're paying about maybe Rs500 a fillup which will let you go 120kms+ . On diesel at (current price) 50rs/L, you're getting the same 120kms in about maybe 10 L which is rs.500. And thats saying 12km/l (very unlikely) and Rs.50/L which is gonna change soon.

Diesel benefits -

Safer
More power
More fun
More trunk room
No time wasted at gas station

Disadvantages

Higher cost
