CNG or low battery issue

CNG or low battery issue

Hi I am new to the world of CNG. Since March I got my Xli converted faced a strange problem for the first time. I had been parked in market for about 45 minutes and listening to songs via amp and woofer while waiting for the family.

When we were ready to go, I cranked the engine and it did not start. CNG lights were not showing up also. Then I pressed the switch to petrol and tried to start it but the engine did not start and after repeated selfs battery was flat and this was again a first in my car.

It was very disturbing for me, because my car never had such issues in the past. I looked nearby and found a mech at a CNG station. He came, stopped a taxi and did the jump start and the engine roared back into the life.

Now I suspect that the amp drained the battery and it had not enough current for the CNG kit because the self took most of it.

But the car was not started even on petrol. Strange.

And after that episode car is running fine again without a single hickup. Its back to normal, perfect state.

What do you think the reason could be behind this episode. Low or drained out battery? I suspect the battery part and amp.

I have heard that the new EFI kits would not start the engine without petro. Is it true.

If there is fault in CNG kit, then how can we start the car on petrol only?

i think your battery is the culprit here (though id love to blame the CNG kit LoL)...keep a set of jumper cables in the trunk besides have you replaced the battery since you purchased the car or not?
