Could low coolant levels be causing my Alto Lapin’s engine to overheat?
I recently checked my Alto Lapin’s coolant levels, and they were quite low. Could this be the reason why the engine is overheating? How often should I check and maintain coolant levels to prevent overheating, especially considering Pakistan’s hot climate?

Yes, low coolant levels are one of the most common causes of engine overheating. Coolant helps to absorb and dissipate heat, maintaining the engine at a safe operating temperature. If the coolant level is too low, the engine may overheat.
Signs that Low Coolant is the Problem:
Temperature gauge rising: If the engine temperature rises higher than normal, it could be because the coolant is not circulating properly.
Coolant warning light: Most vehicles, including the Alto Lapin, have a coolant temperature light o r warning light that may turn on if the coolant level is low.
Steam o r coolant leaks: If there’s steam coming from under the hood o r if you notice a coolant leak, it’s likely that coolant levels are too low.
Solution:
Check coolant levels regularly: In hot climates like Pakistan, you should check the coolant every few weeks, especially before long trips.
Top up coolant: If the level is low, add the recommended coolant mixture. Be sure to use the correct type of coolant for your vehicle.
Inspect for leaks: If your coolant levels are low despite topping them up, check for leaks in the radiator, hoses, o r water pump.
