Could some1 tell me how nitrous oxide work

from wat i noe..its a gas.....and i cant link how da gas gives power 2 da engine while da engine itself is working....
and wats a 50 shot nitrous and 25 shot???

Its pure nitrogen oxide which is forcefully Injected at throttle body before intake manifold, adds up to ur fuel and air mixture.

Just for ur explanation, shots are actually sizes.
