Daewoo Heating Up-Not Starting

Guys Please can anyone tell me how much water should be put in in the Daewoo's water bottle. Half or should it be full. I dont have the Manual so I dont know, some say fill it half, other say full.
And there is one more Problem, the Generator's light is constantly ON, though its Dim, and the Car is Heating up too much. When it heats up it doesnt start for 10-15 Mins :s. What could be the problem?
Please help.
Thanks.

1.The water bottle must be kept half filled so that there is much space for the pressure being exerted by the engine for water circulation

2.Get the Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) and the thermostat checked

3. Check for the wiring and the belt of generator for the generator problem.
