Transmission Overheating: The extreme heat in Pakistan, especially in the summer, can cause the transmission system to overheat, particularly when driving in slow-moving traffic o r long-distance drives with high loads. Overheating leads to degraded transmission fluid, which in turn leads to inefficient transmission performance.
Loss of Power o r Gear Shifting Issues: Overheating can also cause the transmission to fail to shift properly o r even go into limp mode to prevent further damage. This can be marked by the vehicle losing power o r hesitating when changing gears.
Burnt Fluid: In extreme conditions, the transmission fluid may break down and become burnt, leading to improper lubrication and eventually damage to the transmission system.
Solutions:
Transmission Cooler: Installing an external transmission cooler can help prevent overheating, especially in hot climates like Pakistan’s.
Monitor Fluid Condition: Regularly inspect the transmission fluid for signs of contamination o r overheating. If the fluid smells burnt o r has a dark color, it’s a sign that it has overheated and needs to be replaced.
Regular Maintenance: During high heat seasons, it’s crucial to maintain the vehicles cooling system radiator, cooling fans to prevent overheating and potential transmission issues.
