Effect on Higher Compression Ratios on CNG......
Effect on Higher Compression Ratios on CNG......
hello!
well i think nowdays as petrol was going at its peek price...so we have to choose alternative of it and CNG was the best possible alternative of petrol....as we all know that CNG creates low power and is also difficult to burn...so just this point raised in my mind that in low compression engines....CNG can be difficult to burn and u need to always upgrade ur ignition system....but what about its results on engines having higher compression ratios...so i think that compression can play a big role solving that fuel burning problem...higher the compression, quickly the fuel burns..so what ur point of view on it...plz give ur views and experiences and experts views are neeeded..what do u think......

Higher the compression ratio, more efficient the engine. So more power both in petrol and cng. The difference in power between the two will remain same for a given CR. I dont believe that increase of compression ratio has much effect on combustion rate. As I know, the combustion rate is function of octane number. Moreover, higher cr will require even higher ignition voltage to get the spark through.
