Engine Oil Change Interval in Bikes

Most mechanic say 800 to 1000 km but i feel this is unfair if i m using a good quality oil it should at least do 1500 to 2000Km like for example if i m using Caltex havoline we can go around 3000 km easily in cars..

The less interval is it bcoz the bike engine is Air cold and demands much better lubrication or its just a crap by our mechanics to change it after 800 ?
