Fuel consumption on EFI / MPFI cars
Fuel consumption on EFI / MPFI cars
I need some help regarding the fuel consumption on MPFI cars especially SANTRO and CHEVROLET
I have CHEVROLET and my cousin has SANTRO. Both of us are faced with high fuel consumption on these cars. The cars do max 11 km/ltr with AC in city (lahore). Without AC it can go upto 14 km/ltr. The reason for buying these minis at such high prices to get fuel economy. I was told that that these cars can do as much as 17 km/ltr in lahore. I am surprised that the figure is nowhere near that.
Is this normal for such cars..??
I am a non technical person and would like to have some insight on what could be the problem (apart from driving technique). I always thought that EFI/MPFI is better than carbs... but it does not seem right.
I sold off my 99 Khyber with CNG (still in excellent condition) to buy this car and I certainly miss Khyber with sky rocketing fuel prices.
Note that I do not want to start a debate between Khyber / Cultus and Santro / Chevrolet. But would like to have some insight on how can I save money on fuel.
Also, can anyone guide me to a good mechanic for CNG installation for Chevrolet in LAHORE.
Thanks for help..

in pakistan the average of a car can vary because the fuel here in pakistan is also not good they mix something else in the fuel so the car is not able to give the milage u require that is 1 of the reason cars dont give a good milage in pakistan. and thee could be many things but what i have heard the chevrolet quality is far better then locally essembled car since this car is imported
