Gear Oil opinion

Hello expert bros out there....please solve a little problem.....I just changed the gear oil of my car.....its a corolla 2001 1.6gli with manual transmission....I have put Zic Gear FF gl-4 75w/85 in it but when I opened the oil bottle I noticed that it was very thin whereas the oil that came out seemed to be thicker.....Now i am worried about that thin oil can provide enough protection to the Gear Box or not......the car's manual suggest 75w/90 whereas the mechanic said that 75w/85 was also good enough......

Please advice me on this issue before my gearbox burns out.....

Thanks and regards...

Well the reason for the thicker oil in the tranny then the bottle is

1. the viscosity difference one being 85 and the other 90

2. the oil in the tranny is used oil and probably contains debris (small tiny particles) from the tranny.

It should be ok. but if you can find 75w-90 then do get that.
