Generator and the Battery.

My Mehran was acting up lately, the problem is the generator overcharged the battery and the battery is dead now, also the generator needs to be replaced, what should I go for now? From where should the generator be bought, new / kabli? Electrician told me to buy a kabli from bilal gunj.. as the new one costs way too much and the kabli would work fine. I thought of upgrading to 55 or 60 AMP or maybe more AMPs generator, any ideas? I don't want to modify anything.. Ideas? I will buy a new battery only after I buy the generator. The car runs almost fine when jump started, but lights flicker too much.. electrician said that the coil of the generator overheated and its gone now
