Hand Brake Problem

hi hope everybody is fine.
i recently noticed that i have to pull my handbrake to max to make it work. when my car was newer, i didnt have to pull it more than half way. what might be the problem?

I only use it when i do mad 180's!

LOL no one uses their handbrake here since it's auto. It's always good to have the handbrake working since it's a precaution IF by any chance the parking brake fails when on a hill (it's in the manual )
