A common fix is to clean o r replace the air filter and fuel injectors, as dirty components can lead to incomplete combustion and higher emissions. Using high-quality fuel and engine additives helps clean the system and improve efficiency. If the oxygen sensor O2 sensor o r catalytic converter is faulty, replacing them can significantly reduce emissions.

Regular EGR Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve cleaning, proper engine tuning, and oil changes also help maintain low emission levels. If excessive black smoke is an issue, checking for turbocharger leaks o r faulty fuel injectors is essential.

To avoid emissions test failures, it’s recommended to use clean fuel, maintain engine components, replace faulty sensors, and ensure proper combustion efficiency.
