Transmission fluid leaks in the Hilux are often caused by worn seals, a damaged transmission pan, loose drain plugs, o r faulty gaskets. The fluid is usually red when fresh and brown if old o r degraded.

To fix a leak, the first step is to inspect the transmission pan, gaskets, seals, and fluid lines for damage. If the leak is from a loose drain plug o r pan bolts, tightening them can stop the leak. Cracked seals o r gaskets may require replacement, and a damaged transmission cooler line might need repair o r sealing.

Regular fluid level checks, using high-quality transmission fluid, and scheduled maintenance help prevent leaks and overheating, ensuring smooth performance.
