Hi, brothers, Tell me, what benefits or harms could possibly come from using hi octane that is offered at shell pumps. ideas.........

it depends on u'r engine's design. If u'r engine is designed to run on a certain octain of fuel ... use that ... using a higer octane won't help you much unless u'r car is moded or you have some sort of fuel management system ... generally using a higer octane of fuel gives you slighly more power ... but its not always good as higher the actain ... drier will be the fuel

Mainly bcause engine is not tuned for 98RON.

Also this technology was intorduced for road running cars quite later.

If you want to use it on Alto/Fx/Khyber or any other car using carburated engines make sure you make it 60 - 40 ratio (40 being High Octane).

As for new cars with ECU's High octane do provide power bost (1-2kw)and gives you more milage too (highway driving).

Most of the Modified, and 30k+ family + sports cars comes with 98RON requirment.
