Honda Civic - 1987 ...5 or 4 Speed ?

Assalam O Alekum,
My dear brothers, we purchased a Honda Civic 1987 model recently. The gear knob shows 4 forward gears, but the car's engine shivers too much after 80-90 kms/hour speed, as needs to be shifted to 5th gear. I would like to ask all our experts out there, if this model of Civic came with 4 or 5 speed transmission ? thanks !

I own a Civic 1988 as well, it is 5-Speed (Forward), but now the issue is for 1987 Civic. Thanx for reply ekdrifter & baqai. Looking forward for authentic info...
