Honda civic rebirth Engine Oil Issue

Honda civic rebirth Engine Oil Issue

I bought a 2013 car that had about 97,000 km on it. The previous owner used 5W30 oil. I drove it for another 1,000 km, and when I took it to the mechanic, he said the oil was low and that the temperature was high. He recommended switching to 10W40, and my dad agreed, but I wasnt happy because my fuel economy went down.

After about 3,500 km, I asked to switch back to 5W30, but the mechanic warned me it might make more noise if I did that. So, he just put in 10W40 again. Now Im not satisfied. Can I still switch back to 5W30 after this oil change?

Could you find a new mechanic? The car should be using 5w30 oil. If its not burning oil and the engine is running well, then 5w30 should be good
