Honda Civic Rebirth Radiator Overheat Any Solution?

Honda Civic Rebirth Radiator Overheat Any Solution?

Yesterday, I was driving my car on my usual 30-kilometer route when I noticed that the engine temperature red light had started blinking just outside my house. I immediately turned off the engine and saw that the radiator was filled with steam. After topping it up, the next morning, I replaced the cap, which seemed to be the easiest step to do first.

I then filled up the radiator with coolant and drove the car throughout the day without any issues. However, I noticed steam inside the radiator and found that the cap couldnt be opened easily due to the rapid discharge of steam. Im looking for any valuable tips before taking it to a mechanic. Although I couldnt find any visible leaks, there were coolant splash marks on the intake hose and radiator cap surrounding areas only on the first heat up warning, which is why I decided to replace the cap first as a diagnostic measure.

The car has a mileage of 65,000 kilometers.

I noticed that you were attempting to open the radiator cap on a hot engine, and I just wanted to advise you against doing that. Its not safe to open the radiator cap on a hot engine because the coolant is under pressure, and you could risk getting burned by the hot liquid.

However, I also wanted to bring to your attention that if youre consistently low on coolant, its possible that you may have a leaking water pump o r some other leak low down in the system. Its important to address this issue promptly because running low on coolant can cause the engine to overheat, which can result in costly damage. So, its best to have a mechanic inspect the cooling system for any leaks o r other issues.
