The 12V battery powers most of the cars electronic components, including the door lock system. A weak battery can cause:

Inconsistent power delivery to the actuators, resulting in malfunction.
Difficulty in responding to key fob signals o r manual operation.

Test:

Use a multimeter to check the 12V battery voltage should be around 12.6V when the car is off.
If the voltage is low, consider replacing the 12V battery before further investigating lock components.
