You can perform some basic checks to diagnose spark plug problems:

Rough idling: If the engine is idling roughly o r shaking more than usual, it could be a sign of worn-out spark plugs.
Difficulty starting: If the Prius takes longer than usual to start, it could be a sign that the spark plugs need replacing.
Power loss o r misfires: If there’s hesitation o r the car misfires when accelerating, worn spark plugs could be the issue.

DIY method to inspect spark plugs:

Remove the spark plugs and inspect them visually for any signs of wear such as carbon buildup, wear on the electrode, o r oil fouling.
If you don’t have the tools to remove the spark plugs yourself, a simple OBD-II scanner can help you check for codes related to spark plugs o r misfires P0301–P0304.
