How can Prius owners identify a transmission fluid leak?

How can Prius owners identify a transmission fluid leak?

Unlike traditional automatic transmissions, the Prius does not have a dipstick, making it harder to check fluid levels. Discussing how to spot reddish o r dark-colored fluid under the car, transmission overheating, o r unusual gear noises can help owners detect leaks.

Since the Prius does not have a traditional dipstick for checking fluid levels, owners need to look for other signs:

Fluid under the car: Transmission fluid is typically reddish o r dark-colored. If you spot a pool o r stain under the car, it could be a leak.
Transmission overheating: Low fluid levels can cause the transmission to overheat.
Unusual gear noises: If the transmission starts making whining o r grinding noises, it may indicate low fluid levels caused by a leak.
