High sulfur content: Low-quality o r unbranded fuel often has a higher sulfur content. When sulfur combines with oxygen in the exhaust system, it forms sulfur dioxide, which can damage the catalytic converter, causing it to clog and fail prematurely.
Deposits and contaminants: Low-quality fuel may also contain impurities that can accumulate in the catalytic converter, further blocking its function.
