How effective are Honda City’s airbags in preventing injuries during accidents?

Some Honda City variants in Pakistan only come with two front airbags, while global versions have side and curtain airbags. How does this limited airbag system affect passenger safety in collisions?

The Honda City offers dual front airbags in most variants, which provide a basic level of protection during frontal collisions. However, side airbags and curtain airbags, which are present in international versions of the car, are not available in the Pakistan-spec model. This limited airbag system reduces the overall protection for passengers, especially in side-impact collisions. In a severe crash, passengers could face higher injury risks due to the lack of side and curtain airbags, which help protect the upper body and head in side-impact scenarios. While dual front airbags do reduce the risk of injury in frontal crashes, they are not as comprehensive as a full suite of airbags that includes side and curtain airbags.
