Most Toyota engines consume a small amount of oil as part of normal operation. However, excessive consumption is a concern.

Normal Consumption: Around 1 liter per 5,000 to 10,000 km 3,000-6,000 miles is considered acceptable.
Excessive Consumption: More than 1 liter per 1,000 km 600 miles may indicate a problem.
Manufacturer Guidelines: Some manufacturers state that up to 1 liter per 1,600 km 1,000 miles is within acceptable limits for high-mileage vehicles.

If you notice a sudden increase in oil consumption, its essential to diagnose the cause.
