I Hate CNG .........Y CNG ??? Y not LPG
I Hate CNG .........Y CNG ??? Y not LPG
I dont like CNG as its False Economy .....our Natural Gar reserves have depeted greated .....Y policy maker prefer CNG when worldwide LPG is preferred .....
1 ----Emissions
Average 70% lesser than petrol / diesel (CNG )
Average 90% lesser than petrol / diesel (LPG)
2----Power
Reduces by about 20% as gas carburetors are often used (CNG)
Same as petrol / diesel vehicles (LPG)
3----Volume of Fuel tank
Large tanks avg. 6 times that of petrol / diesel for same mileage: additional weight and eats up (CNG)
One third that of CNG (LPG)
4---Filling time
Many times compared to petrol / diesel depending on quality of compressor(CNG)
Same as petrol / diesel (LPG)
5----Conversion cost
Taxi / car: PKR 25,000(CNG)
Taxi / Car: PKR 6,000 14,000 (LPG)
6-----Safety
High pressure can be a safety concern (CNG)
5-7 bar, comparable to conventional fuel (LPG)
7----Handling
Requires special equipment (CNG)
Ease in handling as close to liquid fuels (LPG)
8-----Dispensing
Requires special equipment. A compressor alone costs PKR 20 million and a complete station (CNG)
Average LPG stations cost PKR 3.5 million only (LPG)
9-----Transportation
Dependent on pipeline networks (CNG)
Easily transported by road tankers like liquid fuels (LPG)
10---Distribution
Dependent on pipeline networks (CNG)
Supplies delivered by road tankers liquid fuels (LPG)
11----Network Establishment
Longer lead time due to pipeline laying (CNG)
Easy to develop, lead time of hardly three months for each facility (LPG)
12----Initial investment in infrastructure
Average USD 250,000 and upwards for just a dispensing station with compressor of (CNG)
Average USD 65,000 (LPG)
13---Global experience
4,600,000 vehicles (CNG)
Over 9 million 2 times more vehicles on road in cities across the world (LPG)
what you say about my opinion ?

i have personally driven cars on petrol & both LPG and CNG.. as compared, LPG is by far superior than CNG in every aespect, but it does require extra bit of care which is also the case with CNG. LPG is cheaper, its inexpensive, low maintenance cost, very cheap installation & kits, gives performance almost as same as petrol. The only bad impression about LPG in most of the people's minds is that they think it produces odour, is dangerous etc etc however its not the case at all. CNG can also be as dangerous as LPG if not properly taken care of! unfortunately most of the LPG users are taxi drivers & poor people who cannot afford much to maintain their cars/ LPG kits hence they produces smell & we often hear about explosions of cylinders because cylinders too are not inspected..
