I Want to Switch 10W30 iol to 5W30 Need Experts Openion?
Hello Everyone!
I have a 2016 Toyota Aqua with 150,000kms on it. I’m using 10W30 oil right now but thinking of switching to 5W30. Is that a good idea? Also, does the transmission oil need to be changed? I’ve heard it doesn’t. Lastly, there’s a rattle under the car at low revs, possibly from the EGR unit. Anyone know what I should do about that?

Switching to 5W30 is fine if slightly colder climate o r looking for better fuel economy, but its good to check the manufacturers recommendation first.
As for the transmission oil, it doesn’t typically need changing in some hybrid cars like the Aqua.
The rattle could be the EGR valve, and it’s worth getting it checked by a mechanic to be sure.

Switching from 10W30 to 5W30 is generally safe if recommended in your car’s manual, as both work similarly at high temperatures.
