Impact of Hot Weather on Fuel Economy of Suzuki Alto Lapin

How does the extremely hot weather in Pakistan affect the fuel efficiency of the Suzuki Alto Lapin? What specific issues, such as engine overheating o r increased air conditioning load, might cause a significant in fuel economy during summer months?

Common Issues:
Increased Air Conditioning Load: In Pakistan’s scorching summer months, the air conditioning system is often running at full capacity. This places a significant extra load on the engine, leading to higher fuel consumption. The more the AC works, the harder the engine has to work, reducing fuel efficiency.

Engine Overheating: In high temperatures, the engine tends to overheat more easily. If the engine coolant system isnt maintained properly e.g., low coolant levels, clogged radiator, the engine might run at higher temperatures, causing it to consume more fuel to keep up with the demand.

Thicker Oil Resistance: In extreme heat, engine oil can become thicker, leading to more resistance in the engine. This causes it to work harder, further decreasing fuel economy.

Solutions:
Air Conditioning Management: Use the AC wisely. When driving at lower speeds in traffic, it’s better to lower the windows instead of using the AC to reduce engine load.
Cooling System Maintenance: Ensure the cooling system is functioning optimally by checking coolant levels regularly and cleaning the radiator.
Engine Oil Changes: Regular oil changes with the appropriate viscosity for hot weather can reduce engine resistance and improve efficiency.
