why is it necessary to block the air intake when installing a after market cng kit...i mean why cant we keep the engine at its original air intake and feed gas into it...like in my civic, the cng guy has installed a venturi over the air intake reducing the throat dia...why cant i just feed cng direct into the air filter box...without using venturi..what will be the reslts then?

Engines designed to run with fuel...fuel burns with certain amount of oxygen.

In CNG case less amount of oxygen required to burn the Gas...

That's why they narrow the intake mouth ... just test this ... go and remove that stuff used to minimize the air flow and drive the car you will notice that car might not get started or
there is a lot of missing...
