Intake Manifold Problem, Need Help

Intake Manifold Problem, Need Help

Toyota Corolla XLI (Old) model, intake manifold damaged by backfiring on CNG. I contacted Toyota dealer. They told me that I have only one option to get it replaced which I did. New intake manifold is also giving sound (not much). CNG mechanics are advising that I should get repaired the old intake manifold by pulling out jalees from intake manifold and life time guarranty is also being offered. Please help what I should do.
New manifold is also sounding but not much
If intake manifold can be repaired by pulling out the jalees with life time guarranty
If intake manifold can be used without these ventures ( jalees) then what is the function of these jalees.
Any adverse effects on engine of intake manifold without jalees.
Input and guidance in this regard will be highly appriciated.

if you already have a replacement manifold then you can get the old one "modified" from your CNG mechanic without worrying about warranty issues.

venturis are (sort of) mixers and they are required because CNG burns at a different ratio to petrol. it's possible that your air to fuel ratio is off and therefore you do not need the restriction in your intake manifold. also what kind of CNG do you have fit? the new style (multi-point) or the old one which has a venturi & metering valve?
