Is it time for Engine rebuild?
Is it time for Engine rebuild?
Normaly my questions are hardly answered but come on guys give ur views even you have no idea about this :p
my 2E engine is reducing oil little bit as you can see in the pic the red line is where its happy to stay.
if i put new oil in it 20w-50w API SG (GTX) till 1000 KM the oil level will not drop at all but after that it will come down to its favourite red line area shown in pic.
My mechanic says you can drive it as it is or go for new rings he says he might put over size rings in it bcoz i dun wanna go for full rebuild right now. He is very skilled and knows his work. i know a car where he put new rings and its been 4 Years yes 4 years its running gr8.(Cost 11000 Rs includies all seals and jans, new Rings, New valvex, Head job the rebuild will be just like full rebuild where only pistons will not be replaced along with oil pump and all.
So give suggestionsss. Shall i put new rings or just keep running as it is. BTW i forgot to mention there is no smoke / no starting problem/ no mileage problems no nothing.

i had the same problem with my city 05 and went to Honda for diagnostics. The reply i got was that the oil gets thicker during usage and this is reflected on the dip stick. there is nothing wrong with the engine as i was not facing any problem regarding starting, millage etc. Let the experts come up with some views!
