Is this a wise dicision?

Is this a wise dicision?

Dear all.

I am running my xli on petrol. I drove 258kms in Rs990/ which give me the average of 15.9km/liter in city. and Rs3.8/km. While dueto recent increase in petrol prices I have to pay Rs1070/ for same amount of petrol thus my per km expense raise to Rs4.14/km.

Is this advisable to convert my vehicle to CNG. If yes then please mention me the running cost difference and nstallation price and place in Karachi.

Your contribution is valuable.

Thanks

I have been recently told by Foreman at toyota walton motors that average life of new corolla running on CNG is 100000 km. toyota Walton motors is the one of busiest warkshop of lahore thing.tSo i accept it no reasom for him to lie

My mechanic also told me same thing new corolla does not have adjustable tappets i donot know what tappets are and how they work but some how the effect the engine part called Head. honda has adjutable tappets .i donot know how they run but old hondas when they start on gas they sound like disel engine.

However new engine of corolla is not the first one to have non adjustable tappets(or what ever they are called)

1.6gli also didnot have adjustable tappets............i ran 250000 of that car before there was some problem and i had to get its head reparied last 120000km of it was run on CNG,

Secondly shocks iever since i got it on CNG had to get new shocks after 60k and 70k.

It use to give me very good milage on gas and there was difference of more than half as compared to petrol but when other expendatures were considered overall cost was same plus time consumed with refill after every 120 km in city............ then thedre is no gas in winters keep in mind there will be load shedding of gas this time and many years to come atleast.......... after conversion cars performace on petrol is also not same.

its very tempting to use gas but after 3 years when u will add the cost there will still be diference in favour of gas but very litlle ............plus the loss of driving pleasure and time which comes with gass
