Kia Sportage emitting black smoke

Dear All,

For the last few months, my 2002 sportage has been emitting black smoke initially when the vehicle is started and then whenever the car is accelerated, or gears are changed (the black smoke is not continuous). Also, the fuel consumption has increased and i now get an average of about 6.5 per litre. Someone told me that it may be due to a problem in the diesel injector pump. Can anyone shed some light into this and suggest a good place in Karachi to have it repaired/inspected?

pani ka piep le ke salunsar me dalo agar kala pani nikla then i think its ok,because i have also a Prado 2004 modell Diesel and us me se kala pani nikal ta hai!! but your problem is a bit strange!!

I know that Diesel cars smoked black but most of them are almost driven 200000kms.

I think you should go to a kompetent machanik in your city!
