Large Dent on Alto Lapin’s Fender After a Collision

Large Dent on Alto Lapin’s Fender After a Collision

My Alto Lapin recently got a large dent on the front fender after a minor collision with another vehicle. It’s not deep, but it’s noticeable. What’s the most cost-effective way to repair this dent, and should I consider a full repaint after the dent is fixed?

Large dents caused by collisions can be tricky, especially when located on more prominent panels like fenders, but they can be repaired.

Solution:

Paintless Dent Repair PDR: If the fender dent isn’t too deep and the paint is intact, PDR is an excellent option. A skilled technician will use special tools to push the dent from the inside, restoring the fender’s original shape.
Traditional Dent Repair: For deeper dents o r those that have cracked the paint, you may need to undergo a more traditional repair method. This would involve filling the dent with a body filler, smoothing it out, priming the area, and repainting it.
Repainting: If the repair requires repainting, ensure that the body shop matches the paint color perfectly to avoid visible differences. It’s crucial to address any issues with paint damage promptly to prevent rust formation.
Cost-Effective Option: For small fender dents, some DIY kits for PDR are available, but if the dent is substantial, it’s advisable to get professional help to ensure a smooth and professional finish.
