New lancer rusty engine

hi everyone..
someone just told me that a lot of lancers were on karachi port before they were released and hence thier engines are rusty.

a) how do i check this?
b) what problems can i have with my new lancer if its engine is rusty?
c) with a rusty engine be covered with warranty?

is it just a rumor or is it an actual problem? did anyone else have this problem?

the engine block and head are usually aluminium..not everything under the hood.

this is very tricky cuz rust eats up and weakens anything metal or sheet metal and while it may look not too bad, the moment you start to drive, the engine heats up and everything starts to move....parts on which rust is bad can simply drop off.

think about the alternator, a/c condensor, engine mount brackets, hose clamps, suspension parts (damper forks, control arms, springs, shocks, seized bolts and bushings etc.)

if it is available for dirt cheap...you can buy...but then have it throughly cleaned and replace parts as necessary.
