Nissan Sunny 1.3L FF CNG 2006 Model Japanese A/T
Nissan Sunny 1.3L FF CNG 2006 Model Japanese A/T
Hey guys,
I want to buy a nice sedan under 1,200,000. The following is my criteria and I need your advice as to the best fit for my requirements:
1. CNG - is Japanese FF CNG better than retrofit kits from the open market? I personally prefer FF (no hassle) with warranty. I want to use CNG but I don't trust any mechanic. Also don't want to compromise on drive, pace and engine life.
2. Smooth steering and strong long-life engine. This one has a rack and pinion steering and a QG13DE engine. It is also ECCS EFI control with a compression ration of 9.5:1 which I believe is not adversely impacted by CNG use.
3. Large storage capacity and lots of front and rear room.
4. Fuel economy on petrol/gasoline as well.
I'm basically impressed by this car because it fulfills my objectives of being a new car for 11lacs 65 with FF CNG and I've heard that FF CNG kits are more fuel efficient. Apparently the engines are supposed to be compatible with CNG, whereas most petrol engines are not built for the injection, compression and spark levels (requirements) neccessary for CNG use.
I also like that its Japanese built, will last long (I'd like to hold on to a car for atleast 5 years) has classic design, a nice interior and exterior, feels large from inside and has a great safety record with all the trimmings (power windows, central locking etc etc). 1.3L is fine with me cuz I hate speeding (plus its Karachi and you can hardly speed in the city without hitting something). Any recs regarding the engine capacity?
I've heard the brake system (which is not ABS) is a problem and the rear seats are not spacious. I've also heard that the interior is very cheapish plastickY. Is that true?
If there are any Sunny Nissan 2005/6 drivers please do give your feedback.
P.S. I have used a Honda VTI and Oriel and Toyota Xli and Gli. Want something different. Also had a reconditioned Lancer. But am averse to putting CNG in them and they are not available with FF CNG. Want something different.
I would appreciate everyone's feedback on this.
Thanks.

brake is actualy very good. no issues at all. no ABS but very effective.
interior is a matter of choice.
rear space is moderate. optra is better here.
bggest advantage is 50k warranty not getting void because of FF CNG.
if u put after market CNG, warranty is void.
