Poor pick on 2nd gear

Poor pick on 2nd gear

I have Corolla 96, the problem is when i engage 2nd gear the car speed drops for few second and then gradually rise with the accelerator. If i depress the accelerator after engaging 2nd gear the pick up is very slow. Can anyone knows what is the problem and oblige.

gas flow is greatly restricted - and you would also be facing a bogging "emtpy induction" sound from the engine.

Correct selection of the venturi and correct adjustment of the CNG regulator would solve this, And correct adjustment of the regulator is done by drive, test and adjust not standing free rev and adjust.

The power screw is to limit the flow of gas from the regulator, while the screw on the regulator is to dictate the bulk of gas being pulled by the engine.

btw - a proper original style air filter would help, not the stupid choked oiled fibre (namda) filter the CNG lot proposes. Ive been running CNG cars with original Donaldson paper air filters for ages, and they have ZERO problems, when the idling becomes unstable, time to clean the filter. Each filter lasts a little more than a year in Karachi dusty conditions being driven everyday
